If you are looking to improve your home's energy efficiency but don't want to dive right into a larger project, doing it yourself is a good place to start! The offers below provide financial support to get started on smaller projects that can provide a big bang for your buck.

Window Insert Rebate

Window Dressers is an organization that brings community volunteers of all economic and social situations together to improve the warmth and comfort of interior spaces, lower heating costs, and reduce carbon dioxide pollution by producing low-cost insulating window inserts that function as custom, interior-mounted storm windows. 

Through the Energy Navigator program, eligible homeowners can receive a $100 rebate towards the purchase of window inserts. To be eligible for the rebate, you must: 

  1. Live in Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, Kittery, Ogunquit, or Wells 

  2. Own the property and have it be your primary residence 

  3. Be within the following income threshold:

If you meet the requirements, receiving the rebate is easy; all you have to do is: 

  1. Email the Energy Navigator team at navigator@energynavigatorme.org to indicate that you would like to receive the rebate

  2. Complete the income verification form through Efficiency Maine, and send the verification letter to the Energy Navigator team

  3. Request inserts and install them (Make sure to ask for a copy of the invoice)

  4. Once installed, send a photo of the inserts and the final invoice to navigator@energynavigatorme.org
